Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At about 2:03 a.m. on September 13, 2024, Geneva Police Officer Thomas Krueger responded to a crash at East State Street and East Side Drive. A pedestrian sign had been struck and badly damaged. At the scene, he found a silver 2007 Ford F-150 with front-end damage. The truck was empty, and its driver had left. Witnesses later saw a woman walking nearby. An officer approached her, and Krueger joined him. She was identified as 23-year-old Julianna Sakar. She first denied owning the truck, then admitted she had been driving. Sakar said she had been drinking earlier at a bar where she worked. Concerned she might be impaired, officers asked her to take field sobriety tests. She took the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test, followed by the Walk and Turn. She failed to touch heel to toe correctly, turned the wrong way, and took too many steps. During the One Leg Stand, she did not raise her foot properly and put it down early. After the crash, Sakar’s admission that she had been drinking, and her test results, Officer Phillips arrested her for DUI. Once handcuffed, she agreed to a preliminary breath test, which showed a blood alcohol content of 0.159%. Officers took her to the Geneva Police Department for processing. Krueger transported her while another officer stayed behind to arrange for the truck to be towed. At the station, Sakar refused to provide a breath sample. After processing, she was released and told to appear in court. She faced charges of driving under the influence of alcohol (625 ILCS 5/11-501(a)(2)), improper lane use (625 ILCS 5/11-709(a)), and failing to slow down to prevent a crash (625 ILCS 5/11-601(a)).
