On the 21st of May 2020, a speeding driver on the Gold Coast was being tracked by an unmarked vehicle; the driver didn't like being followed. Officers were surprised when he jumped out of his vehicle in the middle of the road. His defense lawyer, Troy Smith of Moloney Maccallum Abdelshahied, says the vision is concerning. "The inappropriate deployment of the taser, whether the arrest was unlawful, and certainly the potential for an assault on our client," Mr. Smith said. "We've made a complaint to police ethical standards and we're now waiting on a reply." Matthew Gale's matter will next be heard in a Southport court on Monday. Nine (2020) Want more policing content?
