On May 13, 2023, an officer with the Springfield Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 52 miles per hour in a posted 30 mile per hour zone. Before approaching the vehicle, the officer saw the suspect switch places with his dog. The suspect later claimed he was not driving. The Springfield Police Department redacted the suspects faces prior to sending the footage. In the end, the suspect was charged with driving under the influence, driving while ability impaired, driving under suspension, speeding, and resisting arrest.
