What started as a simple stop at a sandwich shop quickly spiraled into a full police arrest — all over a $3.79 fountain soda. After asking for a water cup at a Firehouse Subs, this man was caught filling it with soda instead. When employees asked him to stop and later called police, officers simply told him he needed to leave the property. But instead of walking away, he argued that only the manager could ban him and refused to leave — even after multiple warnings. Within minutes the situation escalated from a small dispute to a full arrest, with the suspect resisting officers and continuing to argue that he hadn’t stolen anything. What started as a free drink ended with multiple charges, including resisting arrest, retail theft, and felony threats against a police officer. Sometimes the easiest way to avoid jail is simply knowing when to walk away. Watch the full bodycam footage and decide for yourself.
