Witness the initial encounter as officers respond to a late-night call regarding a woman refusing to leave a retail store after closing. This incident unfolded at a neighborhood market when management reported a woman who had been in the store for over three hours and would not vacate the premises at closing. Officers located the individual in a restroom, and she appeared to be under the influence of substances, prompting further investigation into her welfare and presence at the location. The bodycam footage captures an officer engaging with the woman outside the establishment during the late hours. The officer maintains a calm and professional demeanor, inquiring about her backpack and confirming her presence at the specific address. During this interaction, the officer politely requests identification, aiming to establish her identity and understand the circumstances leading to her extended stay. The woman, explaining her situation, begins to prepare for departure. The officer provides clear, respectful commands, and an apology when a minor misunderstanding occurs. As she searches for her wallet and identification, a brief moment of difficulty arises as she mentions "having problems finding a place." This clip shows the initial, relatively cooperative phase of the encounter before the situation reportedly escalated.
