Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At approximately 10:07 PM on July 29, 2023, Patrolman Joshua Rinck of the Sea Isle City Police Department was approached at the site of a traffic collision involving a 2017 Ford that had collided with a parked Honda on the 100 block of 42nd Street. He engaged with the owner of the parked vehicle and the driver who was purportedly responsible for the collision. The driver of the 2017 Ford was identified as 19-year-old Olivia, and she had a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Upon request, both individuals were required to provide their documents, and Patrolman Rinck proceeded to inquire about the sequence of events from each of them. Following the completion of his investigation into the collision, he initiated an inquiry into the possibility of Olivia's driving under the influence as he harbored suspicions of alcohol consumption. Although Olivia initially refuted consuming alcohol, she later conceded to having imbibed several hours earlier that same evening. Owing to his apprehension regarding potential impairment, Patrolman Rinck instructed Olivia to undergo field sobriety tests. During the evaluation, the initial assessment involved the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. This was followed by the Walk and Turn test, and the final part of the assessment encompassed the One Leg Stand test. While undergoing the One Leg Stand test, Olivia encountered difficulty in maintaining the required posture, ultimately resulting in the termination of the test due to concerns of imbalance. At the police headquarters, Olivia received the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators and consented to provide breath samples for testing. The results of her Alcotest revealed a BAC of 0.12%, exceeding the legal limit of 0.08% for drivers over 21 and surpassing the legal limit of 0.01% for drivers under the age of 21 by 12 times. Following the completion of her processing, the initial plan was to release Olivia to her parents upon their signing of the Potential Liability Warning Form on her behalf. However, due to some concerning remarks made during a conversation with her mother, she had to be transported to the hospital instead. She was charged with the following offenses: operating under the influence, operating under the influence while underage, reckless driving, improper backing or turning in a street, and open container violations.
