It was reported that a vehicle had crashed into a building. Police Arrived at the Scene: They found a gray Lexus GS3 (2001 model) with the plate number X16RUH (NJ). The car was lodged in front of the building, but no driver or passenger was inside. Driver Located: A woman named Essence Kelley arrived on scene and admitted the car was hers. She stated she had been driving with her friend Jessica Tunia. Argument Caused the Crash: Essence explained that an argument broke out in the car with Jessica. Jessica grabbed the steering wheel and turned it to the right, causing the driver to lose control and crash into the building. Where Did Jessica Go? Jessica walked away toward Morris Ave after the crash. Police searched for her but couldn't locate her. Later, Jessica stated over the phone that she was "not in Union" but refused to share her location. DUI Case: Police noticed the smell of alcohol on Essence’s breath. She denied drinking and claimed she had only gone out to dance. However, a breath test revealed a BAC of 0.12%, confirming she was driving under the influence. Essence Was Arrested: She was charged with DUI, reckless driving, expired registration, and driving without an insurance card.
