Deputy Turner observed Johnson in the Walmart parking lot on SW Highway 200 and his vehicle had an unregistered temporary license plate. Deputy Turner advised Johnson, who had provided a false name, not to drive the vehicle. A few moments later, he observed the vehicle drive past, so he conducted a traffic stop. Deputy Turner searched for the name Johnson provided and the picture did not match his appearance. When confronted about the discrepancy, Johnson sped away. A vehicle pursuit was initiated and ultimately came to an end when Deputy Hannar took the lead and conducted a PIT maneuver to disable Johnson's vehicle. Johnson attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended a short distance away when Deputy Hannar deployed his taser. Johnson said he ran because of an active Aggravated Arson warrant out of Ohio. A search of his vehicle revealed he was in possession of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Johnson was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail.
