How A Bystander's Bad Attitude Got Him Thrown In A Jail Cell On 2/20/2026, Deputies with the Polk County Sherriff's Office responded to a call from a gas station after a fight occurred on the property. The man was then taken inside the Polk County Jail where he was booked and charged with interference with official acts, possession of a controlled substance which must have been found in his car from the other officers on scene, and 2 counts of assault on persons in certain occupations meaning he assaulted jail staff after being taken into jail custody. In court he was only charged with the assaults that took place inside the jail and everything that took place at the gas station was dismissed.
