#news #police #arrest #cops Report: On 09/25/2022, While working security at the Cloud Bar in downtown Athens, a white female later identified as Ansley, appeared to be extremely intoxicated and wanted to gain entry into the bar. The suspect fell to the ground once, was unable to maintain her balance, was slurring her speech and smelled of a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. Staffers at the bar noticed the intoxicated suspect and denied her entry into the bar. The suspect at separate point attempted to gain entry but was denied entry repeatedly by the staffers. After many failed attempts, the suspect again tried by rushing into the bar but was met by one of the staffers who physically had to hold her and deny her access. I tried multiple times to convince the suspect that she needed to stop and to leave but to no avail. The suspect, one last time, tried entry by rushing in but was met by staffers, Officer arrested the suspect at that point and called for the downtown units to assist. I released custody of the suspect to the downtown units and she was subsequently transported to the county jail. It was discovered that the suspect had originally given officers a fake name and turns out that she is also underage. Officer charged the suspect with public intoxication and exercised discretion on all other potential charges.
