Fort Wayne, Indiana — On August 5, 2024, at approximately 3:35 a.m., Officer M. Wills observed a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Tyjana Smith run a stop sign at high speed. Smith had an active arrest warrant for driving while suspended, refused to identify herself, and was uncooperative with commands. After multiple verbal attempts to have her exit the vehicle, officers were forced to remove her physically. Smith actively resisted, prompting officers to use force to gain compliance. She was arrested and charged with multiple offenses. All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
