On February 6, 2026, Rio Rancho Police Officer Lorenz was handling a traffic collision when he told one of the drivers to stay in her vehicle while he prepared a warning citation for following too close. The police report indicates that after several minutes, the 44-year-old woman drove off. Officers Lorenz and Lucero caught up with the woman and initiated a traffic stop. Based on the woman's confusion about exiting a gate and the fact that an open bottle of vodka was visible in her vehicle, she was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, she was placed under arrest and was transported to the Rio Rancho Police Station. She agreed to provide breath samples which both registered 0.30% BAC, nearly 4 times the legal limit. The outcome of her case is discussed at the end of the video.
