Note: The driver, Steve Robinson, has a very lengthy criminal history that includes fleeing, drugs, battery, and theft. Trooper's Report: On 01/29/26 at approximately 1355 hours I, TRP. Trey Smith #415, initiated a traffic stop on a gray Chevy HHR (LPN: BGC19S) on Interstate 49 SB taking Exit 64. The reason for the stop was the vehicle didn't have insurance on file, and the registered owner had a suspended license. V1 was taking the exit and wasn't driving in the lane of traffic. The traffic light at the intersection with Wedington Dr had red arrows and traffic was flowing through the intersection. V1 disregarded the traffic control device and drove between several cars almost striking them. V1 made unsafe lane changes and didn't signal as they approached Steamboat Dr. V1 then jumped the median curb and drove into oncoming traffic before going into the IHOP parking lot. V1 accelerated through the parking lot and drove through the Murphy USA gas station. V1 then went south on Marvin Ave and was driving at a high rate of speed through a residential area. V1 went south on Shiloh Dr and got up to 67 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. V1 then went west on Jewell Rd and spun out. V1 drove into the snow-covered grass and lost traction in the ditch. The driver later identified as Steve Robinson exited the vehicle and ran on foot through the Chamberland Square apartment complex. I gave chase and observed several Springdale PD units in the area. They came to assist when they saw me pursuing the vehicle. OFF. C. Scallorn #327 ran towards Robinson and grabbed him. We went to the ground with him and got him onto his stomach. He was still resisting and wouldn't give us his hands. We were able to get him in cuffs and during a search of his person I located a Taurus Millennium G2 (SN: TKX42753) in his jacket pocket. I later located a loaded extended magazine near a tree where V1 stopped. Robinson is a convicted felon and has a brady indicator, reference Washington County Circuit Court convictions listed below. OFF. Scallorn sustained injuries during this incident including a scraped/swollen knee and a swollen/stiff right hand. Additionally, a Subaru Crosstrek (LPN: BCG90A) that was in the parking lot received minor damage during the arrest. V1 was secured by Springdale PD and the registered owner of the vehicle Nicole Turman was in the passenger seat. She provided a written statement about the incident. Central EMS and Fayetteville FD arrived on scene and checked on Robinson due to his complaints about his arm. He refused medical treatment and was transported to the Washington County Detention Center for processing. A photo of the seized firearm and the damage to V2 are attached to this report. Reference Springdale PD report number 26-06735 for their portion of this incident.
