A late-night call about an intoxicated driver attempting to abandon her children leads to a tense roadside encounter and an urgent search. Police responded to a gas station after witnesses reported a visibly intoxicated driver attempting to abandon her two young children, even allegedly tossing an infant to the ground. The driver then fled the scene in a tan Cadillac SRX with the children. Officers tracked the vehicle to a neighborhood where the driver exhibited erratic behavior, making inconsistent statements and denying intoxication despite clear signs. During the stop, officers identified the driver and prepared to search the vehicle, while also realizing a third child was unaccounted for, prompting a wider search. The missing child was later located safe, and the driver, who was on probation for a prior child neglect case, was arrested for child neglect, public intoxication, and a family offense. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
