Arrest on 4/10/2025: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EemOWxwtZ6o Arrest on 10/23/2025: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sDAkYbFC74 Around 9:07 PM on April 18, 2024, Sergeant Eric Prach, Officer Erik Woodruff, and Officer Anthony D’Angelo with the Hanover Township Police Department responded to Wegmans (34 Sylvan Way) on report of a female actively shoplifting. They arrived on scene and located a female who was loading stolen items into a Lyft vehicle. They made contact with the woman, who was later identified as 22-year-old Candie House. The officers were advised that she just walked past all points of sale without attempting to pay for the items. Since she did not have her identification with her, an officer ran her name and date of birth through the system. The total value of items that Candie attempted to steal was determined to be $507.72. As the officers attempted to place Candie in handcuffs, she actively resisted. She was charged with Shoplifting (2C:20-11B(1)), resisting arrest (2C:29-2A(1)), and obstruction (2C:29-1A) for this particular incident. It was determined that Candie was also involved in multiple prior shoplifting incidents at the same Wegmans. After they transported her to the station, they learned she had an outstanding warrant out of Parsippany. She was ultimately lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility on based on her PSA score. Court records indicate that on July 1, 2024, Candie’s charges were disposed of in the Superior Court. Following this incident, Candie was later arrested again for trying to steal from Walmart in Hanover Township, NJ on April 10, 2025. She was then arrested yet again for shoplifting after stealing from Walmart Boonton, NJ on October 23, 2025. Candie has previously been arrested for these other incidents as well: -Disorderly conduct (2C:33-2A(1)) in Newark, NJ on March 5, 2025 -Simple assault (2C:12-1A(1)) and disorderly conduct (2C:33-2A(1)) in Morristown, NJ on October 19, 2024 -Theft (2C:20-3A) and hindering (2C:29-3B(4)) in Parsippany, NJ on June 21, 2023 -Shoplifting (2C:20-11B(1)) and conspiracy (2C:5-2A(1)) in Hanover Township, NJ on July 25, 2022 ---------------------------------------------- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider supporting this channel (email us for more information). This is similar to other law enforcement channels on YouTube. All videos and case documents were obtained pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq. (P.L. 2024, c.16). Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. The New Jersey Supreme Court has previously affirmed in Salzano v. North Jersey Media Group, 993 A.2d 778 (2010) that “The fair-report privilege reflects the judgment that the need, in a self-governing society, for free-flowing information about matters of public interest outweighs concerns over the uncompensated injury to a person's reputation.” This video advances a compelling public interest. The summary of events was based on records that are “open to public view through open access to public records” as defined in the Salzano case. In Ramos v. Flowers, 429 N.J. Super. 13, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court has also affirmed the right to film law enforcement interactions.
