On September 11, 2022, around 2:30 AM, Officer Torie Teets with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department was on patrol in Downtown Athens, Georgia, when she encountered two vehicles obstructing the roadway after an apparent fender bender. The officer identified one driver as 21-year-old Remington, who exhibited clear signs of impairment and smelled of alcohol. Despite admitting to only one glass of wine, Remington subsequently failed multiple field sobriety tests, including the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, Walk and Turn, and One Leg Stand exercises. In this bodycam footage, Officer Teets directly questions Remington about her alcohol consumption and challenges her assertion that she is safe to drive. As Remington continues to deny significant drinking, the officer determines her impairment prevents her from operating a vehicle.
