Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At about 1:47 a.m. on February 5, 2023, Officer Zachary Davis spotted a 2016 Mercedes-Benz drifting off S Milledge Avenue near Riverbend Road. He switched on his lights, and the driver pulled over near the UGA Softball Stadium entrance. Davis approached and spoke with the driver and her passenger. The driver, 20-year-old Rachel Ferguson, said she did not have her license. Her passenger was Elizabeth Coffin. Davis told Ferguson she had broken traffic rules and smelled alcohol as he spoke with her. She said she was picking up a friend downtown. He asked her to step out of the car and, still smelling alcohol, asked her to perform several tests. During the eye test, Davis saw Ferguson's eyes move unevenly and shake at the farthest point. They also began shaking before reaching a 45-degree angle. Her eyes did not move up and down. On the walk-and-turn test, she failed to walk heel-to-toe and took the wrong number of steps. For the one-leg stand, she did not follow instructions and took large steps instead of lifting her foot. Davis arrested Ferguson for DUI, citing her poor driving, the smell of alcohol, and her test results. He read her the Implied Consent Notice, and she agreed to a breath test. At a substation, Sergeant Dieball gave her the test. Ferguson said she worked at Moonshine Bar & Grill. Her BAC measured 0.161%, more than twice the legal limit. Davis took Ferguson to the Clarke County Jail. Another officer later called to report finding a fake ID in her car. Ferguson received tickets for DUI and failing to stay in her lane.
