A late-night firearm discharge call quickly escalates as a suspect, identified by witnesses, is found and resists detention. Officers with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to a report of a firearm discharged into the air on N Jackson Street. A witness described a female wearing a white shirt and plaid skirt, leading officers to a strip club dressing room where the suspect, a young white woman, was located. A GLOCK 9mm was found in a holster under her skirt. Once placed in handcuffs inside the patrol vehicle, the suspect became verbally and physically resistant, insisting she wanted to go to jail while denying wrongdoing and complaining of wrist pain during restraint.
