CASE SUMMARY: State of Florida v. Amber McCann | Retail Theft & Drug Trafficking Investigation On the evening in question, deputies from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shoplifting incident at a local Walmart retail location. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect, 30-year-old Amber McCann, who immediately admitted to removing merchandise from the store without payment. THE SUSPECT'S STATEMENT: McCann claimed she was participating in what she described as a "game" called "21" - whereby participants attempt to steal merchandise and exit the store without detection. She stated she placed stolen items into what she initially described as a "random vehicle," later identified as her boyfriend's rental car. THE INVESTIGATION: During a lawful search of the vehicle, deputies discovered: * Over $1,000 in stolen Walmart merchandise * Methamphetamine (testing positive for over 1,000 grams) * Additional controlled substances including marijuana, hashish, and prescription medications * Drug paraphernalia including scales, pipes, and packaging materials * A loaded 9mm Kel-Tec firearm secured in a locked safe * Precious metal bars (silver, copper, platinum) LEGAL PROCEEDINGS: Following Miranda advisement, McCann denied knowledge of the narcotics found in the vehicle. She was detained and subsequently arrested. CHARGES FILED: * Trafficking in Methamphetamine (First-Degree Felony) * Grand Theft (Felony - over $1,000) * Drug Possession (Multiple Counts) * Possession of Drug Paraphernalia * Possession of Controlled Substances The defendant is scheduled to appear in Flagler County Court in May. Under Florida law, trafficking in methamphetamine carries a potential sentence of up to 30 years in state prison. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 📌 ABOUT THIS VIDEO CamWatch shares lawfully obtained police bodycam footage sourced directly from law-enforcement agencies through public-record and FOIA requests.
