It's hard for me to understand the mindset of these people that cosplay as cops, there seems to be no shortage of them. Are they trying to do really bad things pretending to be cops? Do they wish they were cops but don't want to go through with the process of actually becoming one? Mall security encountered a man armed and wearing a tactical vest, when they asked him what agency he was with he said he was a ‘Fed’. (Federal Law Enforcement) He later said he worked for DHS and was on a protection detail. The female he was with actually did work for FEMA. He showed the police a fake ID card that was on his outfit and they assumed he actually was a federal law enforcement official. Days after this encounter they found out that he was just a security guard and that he had even lied about being in the military to get that security job. He was charged with two counts of impersonation of an officer or employee of the United States and one count of making a false statement to a department or agency of the United States. He ended up pleading guilty to making a false statement. It is believed that the woman was not aware he wasn't actually a 'Fed'.
