What started as a suspected shoplifting incident quickly turned into a chaotic police confrontation when a 19-year-old woman refused to cooperate with officers. Police responded after a couple was reportedly caught shoplifting. When officers located the woman, she refused to give them her name, refused to explain who she was with, and repeatedly challenged their commands. Then things got serious. Officers ordered her to the ground and repeatedly told her to put her hands behind her back. She continued refusing, even telling officers, “Of course I’m going to tell you no.” An officer warned her that she would be TASED if she refused to comply. Seconds later, the TASER was deployed. But that was only the beginning. Her boyfriend was also located after running from police. Officers chased him through the area, ordered him to stop, and eventually used a TASER on him as well. After both suspects were taken into custody, the couple faced charges connected to the incident, including resisting arrest and theft.
