On May 6, 2021 Per Report- At approximately 2311 hours, I was traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 near Rio Grande Blvd. NW. At this time, I observed a vehicle behind me traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 at a very high rate of speed. I observed the vehicle passing the flow of traffic. Using my rear antenna, I tracked the vehicles speed at 108 MPH in a posted/marked 65 MPH speed limit zone. The vehicle (beige Ford Taurus) passed my fully marked unit at a high rate of speed. I activated my emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop for speeding. The vehicle did not stop. I activated my sirens and the vehicle exited Interstate 40 at 12th street. The vehicle ran the red light on eastbound frontage road at 12th street. The vehicle approached 6th Street and came to a stop underneath Interstate 40 in the northbound lanes of travel of 6th Street. I gave the driver verbal commands to exit the vehicle. The vehicle fled northbound on 6th street and travelled westbound on Prospect. The vehicle pulled into residence 814 Prospect Rd. NW. I observed the defendant exit the driver's seat. I gave him verbal commands to stop. The defendant did not stop and ran inside of the residence. I knocked on the door. The owner of the house came out of the residence. The owner of the house stated it was her house and "Joseph" was hiding in the house. The owner gave Officer's permission to enter the house and apprehend the defendant. I made contact with the defendant in the bathroom of the residence. The defendant was taken into custody without further incident. While detaining the defendant, I detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath and on his person. The defendant was identified by his name and date of birth as Mr. Joey. I placed the defendant in the rear seat of my unit and Mirandized him. The defendant agreed to speak with me. While speaking with the defendant in front of my unit, I observed his eyes were bloodshot and watery. I observed an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath and on his person. The defendant's words were slurred and mumbled as he spoke. The defendant stated he was the driver and he saw my emergency equipment behind him.
