Witness reports lead to a late-night traffic stop, revealing an impaired driver and escalating quickly to an arrest. Around 11:37 PM, officers responded to a report of an erratic driver who had damaged a sign. An officer located the black 2016 Jeep and made contact with the driver, observing immediate indicators of impairment. After the driver admitted to having "two drinks," a Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test was initiated. However, the officer promptly terminated the field sobriety exercises due to safety concerns and informed the driver she was under arrest for driving under the influence, citing her erratic driving, slurred speech, and an open container found in her vehicle. The driver subsequently pleaded guilty to operating under the influence and unsafe operation, facing significant fines, an ignition interlock device requirement, and mandatory attendance at an intoxicated driver resource center. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
