On September 24, 2023, Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper Byron observed a vehicle traveling 90 miles per hour (MPH) in a 65-mph zone. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 20-year-old woman, who did not have her license with her. Over the course of the next several minutes, the woman denied consuming alcohol no less than 7 times. Only when Trooper Bryon brought out the portable breath testing device did the woman admit that she had been drinking. Her breath alcohol concentration was 0.063%, which is over the legal limit for a person under 21 years of age. The woman was arrested and transported to the Ohio Highway Patrol post, where she submitted to an evidential breath test. The result of that test was 0.051% BAC.
