In the early morning hours of January 1, 2024, a passerby called the Las Cruces Police Department to report that a vehicle had crashed through a fence. Sgt. Walker arrived on scene and discovered a male passenger exiting the vehicle. A female passenger and the 23-year-old female driver were still inside the vehicle, which had sustained significant damage. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol and was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. After the tests, she was arrested for DUI. She was transported to the Las Cruces Police Station, where it was revealed that her license was already suspended. She submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.13% BAC. She was taken to the local hospital for medical clearance and was then driven to the Dona Ana County Detention Center. Her charges and the outcome of the case are discussed at the end of the video.
