On December 11, 2018, in Cape Coral, Florida, a dramatic incident unfolded, captured on body cam footage that has since gripped true crime enthusiasts. Jessica C. Blick, a 37-year-old woman, dialed 911 around 6:47 PM, requesting an ambulance but offering scant details about her situation. This mysterious 911 call prompted Cape Coral Police to respond to the 500 block of Cape Coral Parkway East, near a Family Dollar store at 340 Cape Coral Parkway East. Officers found Blick walking on the sidewalk, clutching a large piece of concrete in one hand and a cellphone in the other, setting the stage for a shocking police encounter. When the first officer approached to determine if Blick was the 911 caller, she ignored repeated commands to drop the concrete. The body cam video shows the officer calmly asking, “Can you put the rock down for me?” multiple times, but Blick remained unresponsive. Tensions escalated when a second officer approached, prompting Blick to raise the concrete as if to throw it and verbally threaten to kill the first officer, shouting expletives. This aggravated assault on a police officer marked a turning point in the encounter. Blick then fled into the street, leading to a chaotic chase captured in the viral body cam footage. An officer attempted to deploy a Taser, but it missed twice, heightening the intensity of the police confrontation. Blick then hurled the concrete rock at the second officer, striking him in the shoulder. The officers pursued her, forcing her into bushes and onto the ground to apply handcuffs. However, Blick’s resistance continued—she rolled over and kicked an officer in the thigh and groin, prompting the use of pepper spray to subdue her. This resisting arrest with violence added to her charges. Blick was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers for minor injuries, cleared of any serious physical issues, and booked into Lee County Jail with no bail set. Blick faced serious charges: aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest with violence. The Cape Coral police arrest gained widespread attention, with outlets like the Daily Mail, Police1, and News-Press reporting on the shocking body cam footage. The reason for her initial 911 call remains unclear, adding an element of mystery to this true crime story. This incident highlights the unpredictability of police encounters and the dangers officers face, making it a compelling case for fans of body cam videos and true crime content. The footage’s raw intensity and Blick’s erratic behavior have made it a viral police video, sparking discussions about mental health, police response, and public safety. #BodyCamFootage #TrueCrime #PoliceArrest #911Call #CapeCoralPolice #ViralPoliceVideo #TrueCrimeStory #PoliceConfrontation
