On July 20, 2023, Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Sandlin responded to a single car motor vehicle accident. A 19-year-old woman claimed she fell asleep, veered off the road, and crashed her Camaro into a utility pole. After refusing to be transported to the hospital, Trooper Sandlin initiated a Driving Under the Influence investigation. The woman admitted that she had been stopped earlier in the evening by another law enforcement agency and had cannabis confiscated from her. She also admitted to smoking cannabis less than 24 hours before the accident. Trooper Sandlin subjected the woman to a series of standardized field sobriety tests, which ultimately led to her being arrested for Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI). She was transported to the Ohio Highway Patrol post, where she provided a urine specimen. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
