Watch this police interrogation with intense raw interrogation from the interrogation room as police conduct a full interrogation of a suspect. This raw interrogation footage captures every moment of the suspect interview, complete with deception detection techniques, and criminal psychology in true JCS style interrogation. 1. The Background Victim: Sarah Warden, 32, of Clarkston, Washington; mother of three. Primary defendant: Cole J. Marcell, then mid-20s, of Kamiah, Idaho. Co-defendants: Amanda M.D. Jones (Spokane) and Gabriel E. Mattingly (Clarkston). Prosecutors said Marcell orchestrated the killing to take Warden’s roughly $800 Social Security check for drug money. Public reports describe Marcell, Jones, and Mattingly as associates who left with Warden in one vehicle. Marcell’s later defense argued Mattingly was the ringleader and that Marcell went along out of fear. 2. The Crime Last seen early June 1, 2018, at the Clarkston Walmart parking lot. Warden got into a pickup driven by Marcell; Jones and Mattingly were also inside. Marcell drove the group to a secluded roadway near Waha in Nez Perce County, Idaho. Prosecutors said that is where Warden was killed. State theory: Marcell used a knife; Jones held Warden down and also struck and stabbed her; prosecutors said Marcell then used a hammer. Jones later told authorities Marcell used the hammer. The body was moved to Mud Springs Pond near Winchester and found July 7, 2018. An autopsy found slashes and puncture wounds consistent with a knife. After Marcell’s arrest, police reported he had a large knife and Warden’s debit card. 3. The Investigation Body found July 7, 2018, at Mud Springs Pond near Winchester. Marcell was arrested July 11, 2018, in the Orofino area. Bond was set at $1 million. While in custody he reportedly told a corrections officer that two other people were involved, which helped identify Jones and Mattingly. Jones and Mattingly were arrested July 20, 2018, and first charged with first-degree murder. At sentencing, Marcell’s attorney said the state wrongly named him as the ringleader, that Mattingly drove the crime, and that DNA supported Marcell’s account. The state said Marcell directed the killing. The judge later said he viewed all three as equally responsible for the death. Mattingly’s plea included an agreement to testify against Marcell. 4. Conviction and Sentencing Original charge: first-degree murder, including a premeditation allegation. Fall 2019: a scheduled guilty plea was withdrawn over the word “premeditated”; a jury trial was planned. February 24, 2020: pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, including the premeditation language. The trial was vacated and he waived appeal of the conviction. The plea let the state argue for 40 years to life and the defense argue for less. May 28, 2021: 2nd District Judge Gregory FitzMaurice sentenced him to life in prison with no parole for at least 30 years (30 years to life). The judge called him a danger to society. He later filed a post-conviction petition alleging ineffective assistance of counsel about the sentencing agreement. true crime, law and crime network, interrogation, interrogation analysis, red thread interrogations, interrogation jcs inspired, interrogation jcs style, interrogation psychology, interrogation psychology jcs inspired, new interrogations 2026,interrogation breakdown, police interrogation psychology, bodycam, interview, case analysis, bodycam footage, crime investigation, police interrogation, suspect interview, int, interrogations 2026,interrogation videos, jcs true crime
