A routine traffic stop takes an unexpected turn when the driver reveals a surprising past connection to law enforcement during her own DUI arrest. On April 22, 2022, Officer James Perz initiated a traffic stop after a school staff member reported a potentially impaired driver, later identified as Lauren Brunetto, operating a silver 2015 Hyundai erratically. Despite claiming a panic attack, Brunetto exhibited clear indicators of impairment, leading to a DUI investigation taken over by Officers Miller and Styles. After initial refusal, she complied with field sobriety exercises, failing multiple tests including the Walk and Turn and One Leg Stand, which demonstrated significant impairment. During the arrest, she disclosed a previous DUI arrest in college, where she later went on a date with the arresting officer, an unexpected detail shared with the officers currently on scene. A subsequent vehicle search revealed six bottles of vodka, and breathalyzer tests at the police department confirmed extreme intoxication with BAC levels of 0.311% and 0.305%, nearly four times the legal limit. Brunetto was cited for DUI and transported to jail. --- Transparency through the lens of the law. Subscribe for more real bodycam breakdowns and on-the-street encounters.
