The following is a summary of the arrest of Juan Chavez for driving under the influence of alcohol. Lake Forest, Illinois - 10/03/2022 A police officer on patrol noticed a vehicle's headlights not moving after a light cycle and observed the same vehicle over the traffic light line, nearly in the middle of the intersection, facing southbound on Greenbay Rd. Once the light turned green, the officer approached the driver's side window and observed a male driver asleep behind the wheel. The officer attempted to wake the driver up, and soon after several attempts, the driver woke up and appeared highly confused and disorientated. The officer noticed the driver's bloodshot glassy eyes and the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from inside the vehicle. The driver put the vehicle in neutral, then in drive again and in reverse, nearly striking the officer's vehicle. The officer asked the driver to exit the vehicle and walk to the rear of his truck. The driver began to stumble and use the hood of the officer's car to regain his balance. The officer arrested the driver for driving under the influence of alcohol and impeding/blocking traffic.
