Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At about 12:45 a.m. on May 31, 2024, Officer Sean Delaporte of the Beach Haven Police Department saw a gray 2015 Jeep Wagon run through a stop sign near Centre Street and N Bay Avenue. He turned on his emergency lights, and the driver pulled into a parking space in front of Buckalew’s Restaurant & Tavern. Officer Delaporte approached the Jeep and spoke with the driver, identified as 22-year-old Kayle. Kayle said she had been at a show earlier that night. She denied drinking alcohol, but Officer Delaporte smelled alcohol on her. He also saw a wristband on her arm. When another officer arrived to help, Kayle was asked to leave the Jeep and complete field sobriety tests. During the Walk and Turn test, Kayle failed to touch her heel to her toe on each step and made an improper turn. On the One Leg Stand test, she did not raise her foot correctly and put it down before the test ended. She also took the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, or HGN, test. Officer Delaporte arrested Kayle for driving under the influence. His decision followed her erratic driving, the smell of alcohol, and her failure to complete the sobriety tests satisfactorily. South Shore Towing impounded her Jeep for a 12-hour hold under John’s Law. Officer Delaporte then took Kayle to the Beach Haven Police Department for processing. At the station, officers read Kayle the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators. She refused to provide breath samples. Once processing was complete, Kayle was released to her boyfriend while awaiting court. He signed the Potential Liability Warning form on her behalf. Officer Delaporte cited Kayle for operating under the influence (39:4-50), refusing to submit to a chemical test (39:4-50.4A), and disregarding a stop sign (39:4-144). Court records show that Kayle pleaded guilty to operating under the influence on June 2, 2025. The conviction required her to use an ignition interlock device for three months, spend 12 hours at an intoxicated driver resource center, and pay $640 in fines. Kayle was previously arrested for criminal mischief (2C:17-3A(1)) in Harvey Cedars, New Jersey, on September 7, 2022. If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
