#bodycam #policebodycam #bodycamreports Police stopped Timmie Myles in Summerville, South Carolina, believing an intercepted marijuana package had been taken from his porch and placed inside his vehicle. During the stop, Corporal Robert Barrineau pulled Myles from his car and struck him. But police soon discovered a major problem: the package they were searching for had never left the porch. The department later concluded that Myles was unarmed, his hands were visible, and the punches were unjustified. Barrineau was fired less than two weeks after the incident. More than a year later, Barrineau was arrested on a third-degree assault and battery charge. Myles later filed a federal civil-rights lawsuit, and in May 2024, the court entered a settlement-dismissal order. The publicly referenced order did not disclose a settlement amount.
