On November 30, just after 3 p.m., Howard County police officers Joseph Debronzo and Christopher Weir, both with over a decade of service, responded to a domestic disturbance in Laurel, Maryland, according to the Maryland Office of the Attorney General. Investigators determined that 29-year-old Tyree Winslow of College Park had fired multiple shotgun rounds into the front door of a townhouse on American Pharaoh Lane before entering through a window. Body camera footage shows Officer Debronzo approaching the home’s front door, observing broken glass and shell casings. He attempts to kick down the door while holding his rifle but is interrupted by the screams of a woman coming from above. The woman had climbed out of a second-floor window onto an awning over the front door and managed to get her child onto the awning with her. “Stay there, lay down, lay down, ma’am. Come out here, lay down,” Debronzo can be heard instructing on the footage. Debronzo then moves across the street to join Officer Weir behind a large red pickup truck, using it as cover. While the truck obscures much of the video, the footage captures the officers giving clear commands to Winslow, who appears at a second-story window. A volley of gunfire follows, with both officers and Winslow exchanging multiple shots. Amid the chaos, the woman can be heard screaming. Officer Weir crosses the street as Debronzo keeps his rifle trained on the window. The woman then lowers her child down to Weir, who catches the child safely. Moments later, she climbs down from the awning to safety. Following the shooting, the Howard County Police Department’s Tactical Team arrived at the scene and attempted to contact Winslow without success. At approximately 5:40 p.m., officers entered the home and found Winslow deceased from gunshot wounds. Several firearms and a knife were recovered from the residence. No bystanders or officers were injured during the incident, according to the Maryland Office of the Attorney General. 0:00 - Preview 0:11 - Summary of events 0:21 - Officers' Bodycam footage 3:20 - Woman climbing out of the window 4:20 - Shooting 6:58 - Tactical team enters the home #HowardCountyPolice #PoliceShooting #BodycamFootage #DomesticDisturbance #LaurelMaryland #MarylandAttorneyGeneral #PoliceInvestigation #PublicSafety #HowardCountyNews #LawEnforcement #MarylandNews #BreakingNews #OfficerInvolvedShooting #CrimeReport #PoliceResponse #TyreeWinslow #DomesticIncident #TacticalResponse #BodyWornCamera Disclaimer: The following content contains graphic scenes of violence that may be disturbing to some viewers.
