Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 HER FIRST BODYCAM DUI ARREST https://youtu.be/Lr5c2LgoA6M 🔍 Episode Overview: At 5:59 PM on September 12, 2022, Officer Stephen Arnold from the Ewing Township Police Department received a report about a driver acting strangely in a red 2012 Mazda near Parkway Avenue and Lower Ferry Road. Officer Arnold began looking for the car and saw one that fit the description driving slowly east on Pennington Road (Route 31). He turned on his emergency lights to pull the car over, but the driver did not stop right away. After a brief chase, the car finally stopped on Steinway Avenue close to Pennington Road. Officer Arnold informed dispatch of his location and approached the driver, who was identified as 35-year-old Jasmina Alic. Officer Arnold observed that Jasmina appeared confused and showed signs of impairment. After obtaining her license, registration, and insurance, he instructed her to remain in the vehicle while he went back to his patrol car. A few minutes later, he asked Jasmina to get out of the vehicle as Lieutenant William Lardieri arrived to assist. Given their concerns about her impairment, Jasmina was given the chance to take part in field sobriety tests. Lieutenant Lardieri began with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. During this test, he noticed that the subject, Jasmina, did not follow smoothly, but he could not finish the test because she was uncooperative. The next test was the Walk and Turn, which Officer Arnold conducted. Jasmina started the Walk and Turn test incorrectly by walking backward. When Officer Arnold gave her another chance, she failed to walk heel-to-toe as instructed and completed 10 steps instead of the required 9. The third test was the One Leg Stand, where Jasmina struggled to lift her foot correctly or keep her balance. The final test was the Lack of Convergence (LOC) test, which Lieutenant Lardieri administered. He observed that her eyes could not converge properly during this test. Officer Arnold arrested Jasmina for driving under the influence after noticing her slurred speech, the smell of alcohol, and her difficulty with field sobriety tests. Lieutenant Lardieri searched her car and discovered an open bottle of vodka in the glove compartment. According to John’s Law, the vehicle was impounded for a required 12-hour hold. Following this, Officer Arnold took Jasmina to the Ewing Township Police Department for processing. At police headquarters, Officer Arnold informed Jasmina of her Miranda rights and the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators. She initially agreed to take breath tests. After a 20-minute observation, Officer Robert Birchenough started the breath testing process. However, Jasmina was unable to provide sufficient breath samples after six attempts, leading to a charge of refusal. Once processed, she was released to a family member who signed the Potential Liability Warning form for her.
