On December 4, 2025, at approximately 1:16 PM, a package theft was reported to the Pullman Police Department by Allison Altamura. Shortly afterwards, she responded to the lobby of the Pullman Police Department and spoke with Officer Jordan Shellabarger. She told Officer Shellabarger that she received a notification on her phone about an Amazon package being delivered, and then heard some shuffling at her front door about 5-10 minutes later. She thought she may be getting another package and opened her door to retrieve the packages, but she did not see any packages at her front door. Afterwards, Allison walked to the edge of the breezeway, and saw a woman running to a car with a tote bag full of Amazon packages. She immediately grabbed her phone inside her apartment and took a picture of a white 2003 Chrysler Sebring displaying a Washington license plate (CRY0855). The suspect was described as a heavyset blonde white woman in her 30s or 40s. Allison sent Officer Shellabarger screenshots of her Amazon delivery confirmation, and he told her that they would be in touch. A little over an hour later around 2:50 PM, Officer Shellabarger observed the white 2003 Chrysler Sebring plate (CRY0855/WA) in the area of 325 NW Dillion Street. A woman he recognized as Edwina Grote was seen standing outside the vehicle, and he made contact with her. Edwina told him that she was grabbing food from the pantry, and he questioned her about an earlier incident involving her taking some packages. Edwina denied stealing anything, even though the stolen packages were plainly visible inside her vehicle. At this time, she was placed under arrest. Officer Germer and Officer Patrick facilitated having the vehicle towed to the Pullman Police Department and placed it into evidence. Edwina was transported by Officer Shellabarger to the Pullman Police Department for further processing. At the station, she chose to speak to an attorney. Officer Patrick later took over the booking process, and Edwina was eventually released pending her court appearance. A search warrant for her vehicle was granted by Judge Hart on December 6, 2026 at 9:49 AM. Multiple officers searched her vehicle, and recovered some of the stolen items. They also located illegal controlled substances and paraphernalia. The total value of the stolen items was determined to be $194.85. The Prosecutor’s Office gave Officer Shellabarger permission to return the recovered items to Allison. Later that evening on December 6, 2026, Allison returned to the Pullman Police Department and retrieved the presents that had been stolen from her. Edwina was charged with the following: -Theft – 3rd Degree (RCW 9A.56.050) -Possession of a controlled substance (RCW 69.50.4013) Edwina has previously been arrested on multiple occasions, including a prior arrest made by the Whitman County Sheriff's Office on February 21, 2023. ---------------------------------------------- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider supporting our channel (email us for more information).
