19-Year-Old shoplifting suspect is taken into custody after what begins as a routine police call at a Washington Kohl’s suddenly spirals into a tense and controversial arrest. Officers arrive after two young women are accused of shoplifting. But once the 19-year-old is taken into custody, everything changes. She repeatedly screams for the officer to stop touching her, insists she is not resisting, and says he is hurting and twisting her arm. Then things get even more intense. The woman claims the officer is using unnecessary force and later alleges that her face was pushed into the ground. She insists she has video of the incident and repeatedly demands that what happened be reviewed. But there is another side to the story. The officer says she was fighting back and kicking him while he was trying to place her under arrest. The confrontation ultimately results in theft and resisting-arrest charges. After the struggle, the 19-year-old complains of wrist and head pain, asks for medical attention, and continues to challenge the officer's actions. What started as a shoplifting investigation has now become a disputed police use-of-force confrontation. Was she resisting arrest, or did the police response go too far?
