On November 12, 2024, Athens Police Officers Johnson and Perry responded to a report of a female motorist passed out in her vehicle. When they arrived, a 21-year-old woman was indeed asleep behind the wheel with the engine still running. She was awakened by Officer Johnson and then denied she was asleep. She was initially unintelligible and Officer Johnson called her out each time she did not make sense. She was eventually asked to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. When she was told that she would be placed under arrest for having physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence, she had a panic attack and started hyperventilating. At the police station, she submitted to a breath test and the result was 0.212% BAC. The outcome of her case is discussed at the end of the video.
