On December 20, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officers responded to a single car motor vehicle accident. A Lexus SUV was totaled after crashing into a tree. The Lexus was being driven by a 43-year-old nurse. After being medically cleared by EMS, Officers initiated a DUI investigation. Officer Fine advised the woman that he could smell alcohol coming from her person, but she denied consuming alcohol. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. After the tests, she was placed under arrest and was transported to the Rio Rancho Police Station. She made several attempts to provide breath samples, not could not provide a sufficient sample, so it was deemed a refusal. During the process, she asked Officer Fine his age and marital status. She repeatedly asked him to take her home and even stated she wanted to date him. Despite this, she was transported to the County Jail.
