Unit assisted the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office in locating a vehicle connected to an armed robbery in Decatur. The suspect had allegedly robbed an elderly woman, stealing her cellphone before fleeing the scene. Officers with the A.C.E. Unit spotted both the vehicle and the suspect — 36-year-old Jenee Johnson. When officers attempted to detain her, she immediately fled, sparking a pursuit through the Atlanta area. The chase escalated quickly as Johnson attempted to outrun law enforcement, weaving through traffic and refusing to stop. A.C.E. Unit officers executed a controlled PIT maneuver, disabling the vehicle and bringing the pursuit to a safe end. Officers immediately moved in and took Johnson into custody without further incident. She now faces charges connected to the armed robbery as well as fleeing police.
