Bodycam footage from the Darien Police Department in Illinois shows the moment a domestic disturbance call turned nasty as a young man suddenly attacked an officer in front of his own parents. Police were dispatched to a residence on March 16, 2023, after receiving calls about an individual, identified as 22-year-old Anish, acting recklessly. Officers were met at the door by his concerned parents, who stated their son had been jumping off an upstairs banister. For several minutes, officers attempted to de-escalate and communicate with Anish, who remained mostly silent and stared intently at them. Due to his erratic behavior and the potential for injury, officers called for paramedics to perform an evaluation. As Anish was seemingly complying to walk outside, he suddenly turned and swung at an officer. The bodycam captures the immediate struggle as multiple officers took Anish to the ground, where he continued to physically resist before being placed in handcuffs and arrested for punching a cop.
