A routine welfare check quickly escalates when an officer spots suspicious residue, leading to a driver's dramatic impairment arrest. An officer responded to a report of a suspicious individual, eventually encountering a woman exiting a vehicle, holding a bowl of cereal. Suspicion arose when the officer observed white powder residue in her nostrils, despite her claims of sobriety and attributing unsteadiness to a past back surgery. After she failed multiple standardized field sobriety exercises, including the Modified Romberg, HGN, Walk and Turn, and One Leg Stand tests, the officer placed her under arrest for physical control of a motor vehicle. Post-arrest, she reportedly admitted to snorting medication, specifically Neurontin, but refused chemical testing for alcohol, while her father instructed authorities to remove another individual from his property. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
