On May 8, 2025, a uniformed crossing guard identified as Miss Bobby was struck by a vehicle while performing her duties in an active school zone crosswalk on Superior Boulevard in Florida. The driver, identified as Zena, left the scene. What followed was a 27-minute bodycam investigation by a responding sheriff's deputy that included victim statements, independent witness testimony, a vehicle inspection, and a field interview of the suspect at her home address. In this video, we analyze the legal standards for aggravated battery with a motor vehicle under Florida Statute § 784.045, pedestrian right-of-way requirements under § 316.130, and the probable cause standard under Graham v. Connor (1989). We also examine how the deputy handled a contested credibility situation — and how the investigation's outcome was shaped by independent corroboration. Zena was charged with aggravated battery with a motor vehicle and received six months of probation and a mandatory advanced driver improvement course. ⚖️ GRADES: Miss Bobby (Crossing Guard): A Deputy Snow: A- Zena (Driver/Subject): D This footage was analyzed for educational purposes under the principles of open government and police accountability.
