It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: At around 9:20 PM on March 18, 2023, Sergeant Kevin O’Donnell from the Highlands Police Department noticed a 2009 Toyota Camry behaving strangely. The car was swerving and having trouble staying in its lane on Route 36 Northbound. After pulling the car over, he approached the driver, who was later identified as 31-year-old Jaclyn Coyle. Her speech was slurred, and she showed clear signs of being impaired. Soon after, Patrolman Alvator and Patrolman Hartsgrove arrived to help with the traffic stop. Patrolman Alvator instructed Jaclyn to step out of her vehicle and asked if she would perform some tests to check her sobriety. Jaclyn claimed she hadn't drunk any alcohol, but agreed to the tests anyway. For the first test, she recited the English alphabet from A to Z successfully. The next test was the One Leg Stand, where she struggled to keep her balance and couldn't stand on one leg long enough. The final test was the Walk and Turn, but Jaclyn had trouble walking straight and kept swaying her arms for support. Jaclyn’s driving caught the attention of Patrolman Alvator due to its erratic nature. Her struggles with the field sobriety tests raised further concerns. As a result, Alvator arrested her for driving under the influence. Once in custody, three officers searched her car and discovered several containers of Fireball whiskey. Jaclyn was taken to the Highlands Police Headquarters in New Jersey. At the station, Patrolman Alvator informed her of her rights and explained the procedures for motor vehicle operators. After listening to the statements, Jaclyn agreed to take a breath test. The Alcotest revealed her blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.20%, which is more than double the legal limit. After Jaclyn went through the processing, she was let go with a few important notices. She faced charges for driving under the influence, reckless driving, and not following traffic rules in marked lanes. 8:45 do we think the cops only do 3 steps instead of 9 10:13 How do you like that now? 11:34 but, it’s going to look really bad - at her church ! 13:46 Haha yeah it was his fault 16:16 You have kids, so make better decisions. 24:25 Your alphabet was good...
