Elizabeth had lost her phone a week earlier and wanted her laptop. But her mother, Faith, refused to give it to her — believing that Elizabeth, who was intoxicated, intended to use it to "meet boys." An argument followed… and quickly turned violent. Elizabeth attacked her mother, scratching her hands and arms with her nails, drawing blood. Faith’s husband, Patrick Ohoro, confirmed the incident and said Elizabeth also tried to throw Faith down. Faith had minor cuts and scratches but declined medical attention. When police arrived, Elizabeth was visibly intoxicated and had scratches on her own face, though she claimed they were unrelated. She also refused medical care. Elizabeth was arrested and charged with Simple Assault (2C:12-1A(1)). She was processed at the police headquarters and then transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Center (MCCT). Police also issued a Victim Notification Form to Faith. This wasn't the first time. According to police records, Elizabeth had previously been involved in similar alcohol-related violent incidents with her family. Why was she arrested? Because she intentionally caused physical harm to her mother — a criminal offense under New Jersey law.
