On November 23, 2023, officers with the Riviera Beach Police Department responded to a disturbance call after a homeowner reported that a man had allegedly damaged her property and was causing problems in the neighborhood. When officers arrived on the 3300 block of Avenue S, they encountered the man standing in the roadway and allegedly obstructing traffic. As officers attempted to investigate the complaint, the encounter became increasingly confrontational and ultimately resulted in an arrest. According to court records, the man was initially charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, and resisting an officer with violence. He was later found guilty of battery on a law enforcement officer and sentenced to 180 days in jail.
