On May 10, 2024, Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper Hinton responded to a single car motor vehicle accident. When Trooper Hinton arrived on scene, Wayne County Sheriff's Deputies had already assisted the 20-year-old driver from her car, which had run off the road and crashed into a ditch. Based on the woman's story not making sense, an Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI) investigation was initiated. The woman admitted to consuming alcohol and smoking cannabis earlier in the evening. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which included a portable breath test. At the conclusion, she was placed under arrest. Cannabis and drug paraphernalia were discovered in her backpack. She was transported to the Wayne County Jail, where she provided a urine sample. The police report indicates that the analysis of her specimen resulted in a blood alcohol concentration of 0.051%. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
