On September 19, 2022, Englewood Police Officer Alvarado observed the driver of a vehicle open the car door at a red light and vomit onto the street. When the light turned green, the vehicle sped away at a high rate and crossed over marked traffic lanes. Officer Alvarado initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The 19-year-old woman blamed her driving on the fact that she had just broken up with her boyfriend. She denied consuming any alcohol. However, based on her driving, she was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI and had a profanity laced melt down after being placed in the back of the patrol car. Meanwhile, the passenger initially refused to identify herself and started creating problems of her own. However, she was eventually released without any citations. The police report indicates the driver submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.14% BAC. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
