On January 18, 2024, a detective with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office rushed to a Louisiana bank after staff reported a woman attempting to cash a fake $50,000 check. Police bodycam footage shows the suspect being separated from her mother and questioned inside the bank. When confronted with evidence and asked to acknowledge her Miranda rights, the situation escalated rapidly. The suspect became aggressive, resisted arrest, and struck the detective, forcing deputies to step in. The video also follows deputies as they investigate a possible accomplice believed to have driven her to the bank. The suspect, Colbianta Spain, was arrested and charged with attempted bank fraud and resisting arrest with force.
