#news #police #arrest #cops Report: On 04/15/2023, Officer assisted OFC Gresham on a traffic stop on Lumpkin St @ Washington St. OFC Gresham stated that she saw the vehicle operating without headlights and that she observed this vehicle fail to maintain lane. Officer asked the driver where she was coming from and she stated that she was coming from a bar and that she was trying to go home. I asked how much she had to drink and she stated that she had 2 beers. Suspect was displaying the following physiological indicators of impairment by Central Nervous System (CNS) Depressants such as alcohol: ● Loss of balance ● Odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath ● Glassy eyes Officer asked if she would consent to take some voluntary field sobriety test to make sure she was okay to drive, and she stated that she would. HGN Results: ● Lack of smooth pursuit: Left eye ● Lack of smooth pursuit: Right eye ● Distinct and sustained nystagmus maximum deviation: ● Distinct and sustained nystagmus maximum deviation: ● onset nystagmus prior to 45 degree's Walk and Turn Results: ● Can't keep balance while listening to instructions ● Starts before instructions are finished ● Stops during the test ● Does not touch heel-to-toe (missed heel-to-toe). ● Loses balance while walking (steps off linee) ● Uses arms for balance (raises arms over six inches) ● Turns incorrectly ● Incorrect number of steps One Leg Stand Results: ● Sways while balancing ● Uses arms to balance (raises arms over six inches) ● Hopping ● Puts her foot down Officer asked her again how much she had to drink she stated that she had three beers. Officer asked her again and she stated that she doesn't recall the number of drinks she had. She also stated that she had been downtown since 2230 and she had been drinking the whole night. At that time Officer placed Suspect under arrest. Hands behind the back. DBL. Officer walked her to my patrol car and placed her inside and read her Implied Consent for breath and she agreed. She was transported to the Downtown Precinct and gave a breath sample where she blew 0.167. Suspect was then transported to the Clarke County Jail and turned over to deputies without further incident.
