In this breakdown, we examine a coordinated shoplifting incident from March 14, 2026. At 1448 hours, Secaucus Police responded to the CVS located at 101 Plaza Centre Road. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old female and a 38-year-old male, both from Albany, New York. The female suspect was charged under New Jersey Title 2C for Shoplifting [2C 20-11B(2)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C 5-2A(1)]. The male suspect escalated the encounter by providing false information to law enforcement. He was ultimately charged with Shoplifting [2C 20-11B(1)], Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C 5-2A(1)], Hindering Apprehension [2C 29-3B(4)], Possession of CDS believed to be Cocaine [2C 35-10A(1)], and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C 36-2A]. Both individuals were processed, issued complaint summonses, and released pending their court dates. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide.
